MATTING AND FRAMING
Most images are taken in a 1:1.5 format and will therefore require custom matting to capture the entire image as per the artist's intent. However, these dimensions are designed to fit beautifully into standard sized frames with appealingly proportioned borders. Please see the size chart above for the suggested standard frame size. Some images are displayed in a 1:1.2 format. These will fit in standard matting and frames. A few images are custom dimensions and will require custom matting and framing.

To mat or not to mat? Matting is important in order to create space between the glass and the print. Choose an acid-free matting which is quite common and will prevent corrosion of the print.

Glass and backing. If you buy a ready made frame, it is highly recommended that the backing be acid free. If not, it is worth it to buy this readily available and affordable product. Depending on where the image is hung, non reflective glass may be a worthy purchase as well.

Remember, this is a piece of art, and if treated properly, it will last long enough to adorn the walls of your grandchildren!
